40-Hour Restorative and Pranayam Teacher Training
with Taryn Diamond and Tash Francesca
Learn how to ‘DO’
This training invites participants into a relationship with one of yoga’s subtle gems: Restorative Yoga. Together, we’ll assemble a toolkit that will empower you to facilitate spaces of rest online and in person. Tools will include: awareness of how the body moves; eleven templates (poses) for rest; and simple breathwork practices.
Learn why we ‘DO’
Beyond tangible skills, this program explores why rest is important and navigates the intention required to curate rest effectively in community settings. Participants will unpack the role of the facilitator through critical self-reflection. Ultimately, these practices are not a one-size-fits-all. Our aim is that participants emerge with a deep appreciation for how rest is nuanced and unique to each body, housing different lived experiences.
We will give you the tools to create an impactful rest practice and then give you the space to be critical about what that means.
In addition to scheduled weekday attendance, program requirements include:
-Practice – Attend 4 drop-in restorative yoga classes and send us a brief report on your experience.
-Restorative Teaching – Film yourself leading someone in two restorative postures and send us the recording for feedback.
-Draft a brief sequence (4 poses max. not including savasana) and explain the intention.
-Take Home Exam – Available by email on the last day of scheduled class time.

About the facilitators:
Taryn Diamond
Taryn (she/her) will forever call herself a ‘new mom’, despite having a seven year old. Her entry to yoga was through movement, but her passion resides in studying its roots in Eastern philosophy. She is unabashed in her commitment to cheesy jokes and not taking this thing called ‘life’ too seriously. If she had to pick one modality to be monogamous with, it would be Yoga Nidra (or ‘guided rest’). Through nidra, Taryn is able to express the golden nuggets embedded within the philosophy of yoga, while also facilitating some meaningful rest for her students.
Tash Francesca
Tash (she/her) is a pinay teacher who is obsessed with yoga philosophy, prānāyām, biomechanics and using these frameworks to be curious about how to move and be well in the body we got and in the world we live in.
She has over 1000 hours of training so she is a student first not only in movement, but in how to bridge the gap between wellness and intersectionality so that folx of colour can step into their power, agency and most of all somatic joy. Expect her classes to be intelligently sequenced, lots of prānāyām, sometimes sound and a place where we can be curious, no need to be perfect or with any previous movement experience. Your life experience is enough and will appropriately guide your practice.
