Shoulder Therapy with Manual Release
with Drew Hume
The shoulders are probably one of the more common areas that we encounter discomfort (and then try to ignore it in the hopes it goes away).
Instead of ignoring it, this workshop will start to take you through ways to investigate your shoulder stuff. You’ll spend the first part of class being guided through some specific manual release points (including but not limited to the rotator cuff muscles), and then afterwards we’ll zoom in with some movement practices to activate and stretch those same structures.
You don’t need to have shoulder stuff going on right now – these are good practices to keep in your back pocket for later, because as time goes on, shoulder stuff is almost guaranteed

About Drew
“Part of my work is aimed at educating people on human biology and the physical forms of Thai Massage and another, larger dream of mine is to ensure that as a culture, we become more touch-literate.
I hope to dissolve the culturally ingrained habits that have been spread out of the fear of touch. Touch-aversion goes against our deepest biological needs and so it continues to take us further and further out of connection. I’m here to share education and teach skills in compassionate touch so that we can return to a far healthier state, and a far more interconnected community.
In case you’re wondering about my own education, I have a BASc. in Human Biology, and numerous certifications in manual therapy through a Thai massage lens.”
